New €19 Amsterdam to Paris Train Launches This Year

Traveling between Amsterdam and Paris just got a whole lot cheaper, thanks to a new rail service launching tickets at just €19.

GoVolta, a Breda-based transport company, announced the affordable route that will connect the two capitals for a fraction of what travelers currently pay. While Eurostar tickets typically start at €35 and take about three hours, this new option trades speed for savings with a seven-hour journey.

The longer route has a purpose. Instead of racing straight through Brussels, the train will stop in The Hague, Rotterdam, Roosendaal, Ghent, and Antwerp, giving more cities direct access to Paris without the premium price tag.

GoVolta isn't new to budget European rail. Since March, the company has been running trains between Amsterdam and Berlin with tickets as low as €10. That service proved so successful they're expanding to six trips per week starting in June.

The Ripple Effect

The success of affordable rail options signals a shift in how Europeans might travel. For students, young professionals, and families watching their budgets, these prices open up international experiences that once felt out of reach.

Beyond individual trips, cheaper train travel means fewer short-haul flights, which benefits the environment. As more people choose rails over runways, carbon emissions drop while connections between cities grow stronger.

The company is betting big on this vision. They've launched a crowdfunding campaign seeking €1.5 million in bonds to fuel their expansion. Starting at €1,000, the bonds promise 10% annual interest, letting everyday investors support the growth of accessible European travel.

For commuters tired of expensive tickets and travelers who've postponed trips due to cost, GoVolta's approach offers something refreshingly simple: good service at a fair price.
