Community members celebrating charitable donation at New Hampshire casino supporting local nonprofits

NH Casino Donates Record $2.4M to Local Nonprofits

😊 Feel Good

A New Hampshire casino just set a state record by donating $2.4 million to 12 local charities in a single month. Since opening last year, The Nash has given away over $28 million to support communities across the state.

The Nash Casino in New Hampshire just made the largest single-month charitable donation in state history, handing out $2.4 million to 12 local nonprofits on July 21. The money came from June gaming revenue and beat the casino's own previous record of $2.3 million set just four months earlier.

The casino opened its doors at Pheasant Lane Mall in March 2025, becoming New Hampshire's largest charitable gaming venue. In just over a year, it has already donated roughly $28.3 million to nonprofits across the state.

"We at The Nash could not be happier that these worthy nonprofits, each caring for their communities through their various missions, can benefit from our record-setting month," said General Manager Eric Althaus. The casino continues looking for ways to partner with more organizations.

Among the 12 recipients, James E. Coffey American Legion Post 3 and Advocates Building Lasting Equality each received about $229,000, the largest individual awards. The Hudson Community Food Pantry, New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition, Nashua Community School, and Greater Nashua Mental Health Center each took home more than $196,000.

The mental health center's award arrived at a crucial time, coming just months after a natural gas explosion destroyed its Amherst Street facility. "We serve over 5,000 patients each year," said Chief Operating Officer Maureen Ryan, explaining how the funds will help thousands continue accessing quality behavioral health care regardless of their ability to pay.

The Ripple Effect

New Hampshire's charitable gaming law creates a powerful cycle of community support by requiring casinos to direct 35% of games-of-chance revenue to rotating local nonprofits. The model pairs charitable giving with responsible gambling safeguards, ensuring gaming revenue strengthens communities without encouraging harm.

The Nash has already surpassed its entire 2025 donation total of $12.5 million, and it's only August 2026. Last December, the casino shortened nonprofit partnership cycles from seven days to five, allowing even more organizations to benefit from its donations.

Beyond supporting nonprofits, The Nash sent more than $2.25 million to state funds in June alone, multiplying its positive impact across New Hampshire communities.

From mental health centers rebuilding after disasters to food pantries feeding neighbors in need, these donations are helping real people solve real problems every single day.
