Nigeria and Türkiye Partner to Empower Women and Children

Nigeria is teaming up with Türkiye on an ambitious plan to transform social services for women, children, and vulnerable populations across the country.

The partnership became official during President Bola Tinubu's state visit to Türkiye, where Nigeria's Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, and Türkiye's Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Göktaş, signed the agreement. The collaboration emerged after a year of careful planning between the two nations.

Minister Sulaiman-Ibrahim set an ambitious target: the ministry aims to positively impact at least 50 million Nigerians by 2030 through focused social development programs. The team plans to work "faster and smarter" to reach this goal.
