Nigeria Launches Website to Track Fair Representation

The Federal Government unveiled a new digital platform for the Federal Character Commission on Tuesday in Abuja. The website will allow Nigerians to track how government positions and opportunities are distributed across all regions and communities.

Secretary to the Government George Akume performed the launch, calling it a strategic milestone for the nation. The commission exists to ensure that no region or group gets left behind when it comes to public jobs and representation.

"In a country as diverse as Nigeria, the Federal Character Commission represents a cornerstone for trust in governance," Akume said. "It reassures every citizen that the Nigerian state belongs to all and serves all."

The platform goes beyond just existing as a website. It will provide real-time access to compliance data, recruitment processes, guidelines, and official announcements from the commission.

Citizens can now check federal character indices and institutional reports in an open, verifiable way. The commission plans to update the platform regularly so Nigerians can hold government agencies accountable for fair representation.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu praised the initiative as aligned with President Bola Tinubu's focus on digital transformation and inclusive governance. She emphasized that the website's true value lies in keeping it active and user-friendly.

Commission Chairwoman Hulayat Omidiran said the platform marks a decisive step in modernizing how the agency communicates and delivers services. It will strengthen connections between the commission, citizens, and government agencies.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen called the digital platform critical for transparency. He noted it promotes equitable access to opportunities, which sits at the heart of Nigeria's federal character principle.
