Nigeria Youth Conference Empowers 300 in Delta State

When 300 young Nigerians walked into the B.I.G. Conference in Delta State, they came searching for direction. What they found was a community ready to help them build real futures.

The second annual Begin, Innovate, Grow Conference brought together students, recent graduates, and young entrepreneurs for practical training in career development and business building. Co-conveners Jane Agadia and Tubo Layefa created the event to give young people more than motivation—they wanted to provide actual skills and opportunities.

The results showed in what attendees took home. Participant Trust O admitted she had been waiting for everything to be perfect before sharing her work with the world. After the conference, she left ready to take small steps immediately instead of waiting for the right moment.

Another attendee, Enifome, praised the entire experience as educational and memorable. The enthusiasm was so strong that participants asked organizers to expand the program beyond Delta State, suggesting annual events in different regions so more young people could benefit.

The conference partnered with local organizations including Skysenx Hub, Rume Visuals, and Bito Naturals to make the event possible. Community support turned the gathering into something bigger than a single day of speeches.

The Ripple Effect

The B.I.G. Business Pitch Challenge transformed the conference from inspiration into investment. Six finalists pitched their businesses live after weeks of applications and screening. Two winners each received 150,000 naira in grants to grow their startups—real money for real businesses, not just certificates of participation.

Agadia also announced her upcoming book, The Opportunity Room, which shares frameworks and templates from her own journey building businesses and creating opportunities. The book promises to extend the conference's impact beyond a single event, giving readers tools they can use long after the gathering ends.

The success of year two suggests the B.I.G. Conference is becoming exactly what its founders hoped: a launchpad where young Nigerians stop waiting and start building.
