NYC Ends Legionnaires' Outbreak After 83 Buildings Cleaned

New York City has officially ended a Legionnaires' disease outbreak that hospitalized 84 people, thanks to rapid response and unprecedented cooperation from building owners across the city.

Legionnaires' disease isn't contagious and responds well to antibiotics when caught early. Most people exposed to the bacteria don't get sick at all, though vulnerable groups face higher risks.
