PalmPay Gives 10 Women Tech Internships in Nigeria

Getting your foot in the door of Nigeria's booming tech industry just became easier for 100 young women who beat out 900 other applicants for a game-changing opportunity.

PalmPay's Purple Woman 3.0 Masterclass brought together ambitious women for three days of intensive training across seven critical tech fields. The fintech company designed the program to bridge the gap between classroom learning and actual career opportunities in Nigeria's digital economy.

Participants dove deep into practical skills across data analysis, software engineering, UX/UI design, digital marketing, product management, human resources, and personal financial management. Industry professionals led each session, sharing real insights on navigating the rapidly evolving fintech landscape.

The masterclass delivered more than just knowledge. Ten exceptional participants walked away with six-month internship placements at PalmPay, giving them hands-on experience and a professional launchpad in one of Nigeria's fastest-growing sectors.

Over 1,000 women applied for the program, showing just how hungry young Nigerians are for tech opportunities. After a careful selection process, 100 outstanding candidates earned their spots in this year's cohort.

The Ripple Effect

Since launching three years ago, Purple Woman has transformed the career trajectories of more than 250 young women across Nigeria. Each graduate represents a small victory in closing the gender gap that still defines much of the global tech industry.

The program tackles a critical challenge facing developing economies worldwide. While tech jobs multiply rapidly, young people often lack the professional networks and practical experience needed to compete for positions, even with strong academic backgrounds.
