Philly Airport Sets World Record with 1,291 Cheesesteaks

Philadelphia just proved that when it comes to celebrating its iconic food, the City of Brotherly Love goes big or goes home.

At Philadelphia International Airport, more than a year of planning paid off in spectacular fashion. Teams assembled 1,291 cheesesteaks in a single line, officially setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest line of cheesesteaks ever created.

The record-breaking feat was a true community effort. PHL Food and Shops partnered with the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation and rallied the help of beloved local businesses who stepped up with serious contributions.

Amoroso's Baking Company delivered over 1,000 rolls. Cooper Sharp provided more than 200 pounds of cheese. Philly's Best Steak contributed over 900 pounds of chopped beef, while Chickie's & Pete's offered kitchen equipment, prep space, and volunteers to make it all happen.

Participants divided into teams to tackle the massive preparation. Despite the enormous scale, everything came together in just a couple of hours, a testament to the efficiency and enthusiasm of everyone involved.

A Guinness World Records representative was on-site to verify the achievement. After careful inspection, all 1,291 cheesesteaks met the official criteria, making the record official.
