Pilot Stops Flight to Rescue Pregnant Passenger Left Behind

When gate agents at one of America's busiest airports refused to hold a plane for a pregnant woman running to catch her connection, the pilot reminded everyone who really makes the final call.

Brittany Kamerman was traveling with seven friends to Panama City Beach for a 30th birthday celebration. Their Salt Lake City flight arrived 50 minutes late at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, leaving just 30 minutes to make an 18-minute trek across the massive terminal.

Kamerman sat near the front and sprinted ahead, arriving at the gate with minutes to spare. Her friend Kiley, seven months pregnant, was somewhere behind in the rushing crowd.

"I asked the American Airlines gate agents to hold the doors for a few minutes, but they refused," Kamerman told Newsweek. She explained a pregnant friend was coming, but they didn't budge.

Then the captain overheard Kamerman explaining the situation to a flight attendant. His response was simple and powerful: "Well, they won't leave without me."

The captain walked off the plane, back up the jet bridge, and waited at the gate for the rest of the group to arrive. He personally escorted Kiley and her friends onto the aircraft.

Kamerman captured the final moments on video, showing her friends running down the jet bridge to a plane held entirely by the captain's authority. The TikTok video quickly went viral.

"Thank God for that pilot because I would have died," Kiley commented on the post.
