Pleasant View Softball Team Wins State, Heads to World Series

Pleasant View's 12U All Star Softball Team is showing Tennessee what happens when talent meets heart.

The young squad from this tight-knit community just captured the Tennessee Diamond Youth Softball State Championship with an undefeated record. Now representing the entire state as Team Tennessee, they've advanced to the 2026 Diamond Youth Softball World Series in Laurel, Mississippi.

The road to the championship wasn't easy. At the state tournament in Collinwood, the team faced four intense games, winning each by narrow margins that tested their grit.

They defeated Sweetwater 1-0 in a nail-biter, edged past Dickson 6-5, and squeaked by Decatur 10-9. In the championship game, they finally broke through with a commanding 12-6 victory over McEwen to claim the title.

Their World Series debut showed they belong on the big stage. The team demolished East Mississippi 14-0 in their opening pool game Thursday, keeping their perfect season alive.

Coach Brandon Jarrell credits the team's chemistry for their success. The roster blends experienced players from last year's state championship squad with talented newcomers stepping up to 12U competition for the first time.

"These kids have no quit in them, and they play for each other," Jarrell said. He noted that selecting just 12 players from Pleasant View's deep talent pool in this age group was one of the toughest decisions he's faced.

Pleasant View's success story reaches beyond the scoreboard. In a small town, these 12 young athletes are inspiring an entire community and showing younger players what's possible with dedication.
