Police Rescue 17 Children From Trafficking Network

Seventeen children are safe today thanks to determined police work that uncovered and dismantled a child trafficking network operating across multiple Nigerian states.

The Oyo State Police Command's investigation began in July with one missing three-year-old boy who disappeared during a festival. What started as a single case grew into a multi-state operation that would ultimately bring 17 children back to safety.

Detective work and digital evidence helped police trace suspects across state lines. By August, investigators had located children in Ogun State and Delta State, some as young as two years old.

The rescued children ranged in age from two to seven. Police worked methodically through digital evidence from the original festival, building a trail that led them to multiple locations where children were being held.

This case demonstrates how modern investigative techniques combined with persistent police work can crack even complex criminal networks. The Oyo State Police Command coordinated across multiple states, showing effective inter-agency cooperation.

Parents who lost children now have hope for reunification. The command has invited families who've reported missing children to visit headquarters in Ibadan to identify rescued children and bring them home.
