Queens and Long Island Get 80 New EV Fast Chargers

Charging your electric vehicle is about to get as easy as picking up milk at the grocery store.

Kempower and GET Charged Fast EV Charging just opened their first public fast-charging station at Glen Oaks Shopping Center in Queens, with four more locations coming to Whitestone, Levittown, Elmont, and Commack in early 2026. Together, these five sites will bring 80 new charging ports to the New York area.

The stations are deliberately placed at neighborhood shopping centers with grocery stores, restaurants, and everyday businesses. That means drivers can plug in while they're already out running errands instead of making a special trip just to charge.

Each location features eight dual chargers with both NACS and CCS1 connectors, so they work with all current electric vehicle models. The setup keeps things simple: no new apps to download, no memberships required, and competitive pricing that won't surprise you at checkout.

The Glen Oaks station at 259-01 Union Turnpike is already welcoming customers. Drivers can take advantage of free wifi while they wait, and flexible payment options make the process straightforward.

The Ripple Effect

This expansion addresses one of the biggest concerns people have about switching to electric vehicles: where to charge when you don't have a home charger. By weaving charging infrastructure into places people already visit regularly, the network removes a major barrier to EV adoption.

Monil Malhotra, president of Kempower North America, points out that EV drivers worldwide increasingly prefer charging spots that offer access to services they need anyway. The convenience factor transforms charging from a chore into just another part of daily life.

As more charging stations pop up in everyday locations, the transition to electric vehicles becomes less about planning your day around your car and more about your car fitting seamlessly into your day.
