Rescue Crews Save Driver from Flooded Car in New Mexico

A driver trapped inside a car surrounded by floodwaters got a second chance Monday night, thanks to quick-thinking rescue crews in Lordsburg, New Mexico.

Hidalgo County Fire Rescue teams rushed to the Highway 70 and Motel Drive underpass after reports came in of a vehicle floating in rising floodwaters. One person was stuck inside, unable to escape as water levels climbed.

When rescuers arrived, they found the car submerged in five to six feet of water. The situation was dangerous and time-sensitive, but the teams knew exactly what to do.

Working together, Lordsburg police and fire crews located the trapped driver and carefully pulled them to safety. The rescue operation succeeded without a single injury.
