Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar just reminded parents everywhere that the most powerful lessons often come without a single word of instruction.

Speaking at an event in Visakhapatnam, India this April, Tendulkar shared a memory from early in his cricket career when he bought his first car. He loved blasting music while driving, and his father would sit in the passenger seat reading a book.

What stuck with Tendulkar wasn't just his father's tolerance. It was that his dad never once asked him to turn down the volume so he could read in peace.

"He was extremely patient," Tendulkar recalled. "Never once did he tell me to reduce the volume because I want to read the book."
