Sarasota Scholarship Honors Local Philanthropist's Legacy

The Virginia B. Toulmin Leadership Scholarship is returning for its third year, giving ambitious college students in Sarasota both money and mentorship to launch their careers.

The scholarship honors Virginia B. Toulmin, a Sarasota philanthropist whose generosity touched countless local organizations before her passing. Her foundation carries forward her belief that every person deserves a chance to reach their full potential.

High-achieving juniors and seniors pursuing bachelor's degrees can apply if they maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and live in the greater Sarasota region. The program goes beyond writing checks by connecting students with opportunities to observe leadership in action and receive guidance from accomplished professionals.

Jennifer O. Rominiecki, President and CEO of Selby Gardens, serves as the scholarship's mentor for the third consecutive year. She first guided recipients during the inaugural 2024 cycle and continues to share her leadership expertise with the next generation.
