Saudi Arabia Builds First Electric Flying Taxi Factory

Saudi Arabia just took a giant leap toward becoming the world's next hub for electric flying taxis.

Vertical Aerospace, a global leader in electric aviation, has signed a partnership with Saudi Arabia's AHQ Group and the National Industrial Development Centre to build the country's first electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturing facility. The agreement marks a historic moment for the Middle East, making AHQ Group the region's first eVTOL operator.

The partnership directly supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 Initiative, which aims to diversify the country's economy beyond oil through advanced technologies. By focusing on both manufacturing and operations, the kingdom is positioning itself as a key player in the global aerospace industry.

At the heart of the project is the Valo aircraft, designed specifically to handle extreme heat and busy air traffic. Vertical Aerospace is working toward safety certifications from both UK and European aviation authorities.
