SCCC Graduates 2026 Class Ready to Serve and Lead

Sussex County Community College's Class of 2026 turned their tassels this weekend, marking the end of one journey and the start of countless others.

Hundreds of graduates gathered on Connor Green for the college's 39th commencement ceremony, surrounded by families holding flowers and cameras. The mood was electric with accomplishment as students lined up alphabetically, preparing to walk across the stage at one of life's milestone moments.

Theater Arts student Nadia Cameron kicked off the celebration with a powerful rendition of the National Anthem. College President Dr. Cory Homer then took the stage to congratulate the graduates alongside Board of Trustees Chair Herbert Yardley, County Commissioner Director Jill Space, and NJ Council of County Colleges President Dr. Aaron Fichtner.

Student speaker Teagan Smith, who earned her Associate of Arts degree in Elementary/Secondary Education, represented her classmates as they prepared for their next chapters. Some graduates will transfer to four-year colleges and universities, others will enter military service, and many will start careers in their chosen fields.
