The research team tested their approach in experimental models of arterial thrombosis and inflammatory lung injury. In both cases, GPVILO platelets provided reliable protection without compromising safety.

Beyond preventing blood clots, the researchers believe this approach could help treat inflammatory conditions like stroke-related damage, acute lung injury, and potentially even cancer spread.
