Sean Bellemeur Joins Elite 50-Win Club in Drag Racing

When Sean Bellemeur crossed the finish line at 269 mph this weekend, he didn't just win another race. He joined one of the most exclusive clubs in motorsports history.

Bellemeur became just the 25th driver in NHRA history to reach 50 career national event wins, piloting the Bartone Bros. Racing "Pirate Ship" to victory at zMAX Dragway. His 5.38-second pass in the final round sealed the deal with authority.

The numbers tell an incredible story. Only two other Top Alcohol Funny Car drivers have ever reached this milestone: Hall of Famer Frank Manzo and the late Pat Austin. For the five-time reigning world champion, it's further proof that he belongs among the sport's legends.

But Bellemeur isn't taking solo bows. "That is what the hardest working team in drag racing will get you," he said after the win. "Everyone involved has a piece of this milestone win. They deserve this more than I do."

The achievement comes during what team owner Tony Bartone calls the "DriveFor6in26" campaign, their push for a sixth consecutive championship. So far, the "Killer B's" haven't lost a single race in 2026, sweeping victories at the Gatornationals, a regional event, and now zMAX.

"We have a great crew, a strong crew chief and a fast driver," Bartone said. "I knew we would do it; I just didn't know when."

The weekend wasn't without challenges. The car struggled in the first round, and Bellemeur admits he "drove like an idiot" in the semifinals. But crew chief Steve Boggs and the team made the adjustments needed to light up the scoreboard when it mattered most.

Beyond the trophies and records, Bellemeur's success shows what happens when talent meets dedication. The entire Bartone Bros. Racing crew, from Troy Green to Lauren McMaster, proves that championships are built on collective effort. With 50 wins now in the books and an undefeated season underway, Bellemeur isn't slowing down. The focus remains laser sharp on championship number six, and if the first few races are any indication, this legendary run is far from over.
