Signal Now Lets You Link Multiple Phones to One Account

Signal just solved a problem that's been frustrating privacy-conscious users for years: switching between phones without losing your secure conversations.

Starting this month, Signal's encrypted messaging app lets you link multiple Android phones and iPhones to a single account. Before this update, you could only connect your phone to computers and iPads, which meant juggling multiple phone numbers or losing message history when switching devices.

The new feature works seamlessly across all your linked phones. Messages appear instantly on every device, so you can start a conversation on one phone and continue it on another without missing a beat.

Signal built in a smart privacy safeguard too. When you link a new phone, you can choose whether to transfer your old encrypted messages to it. This protects you if a device gets lost, stolen, or shared with others.

The update rolled out in early August with version 8.20 for Android and 8.22 for iPhone and iPad users. If you haven't received it yet, check your app store for the latest version.
