Singapore Polytechnic Signs 9 Tech Partnerships

Singapore is making a major investment in preparing its workforce for the AI-driven future, and thousands of students and workers will benefit.

Singapore Polytechnic announced nine new partnerships with tech companies, manufacturers, and universities to strengthen talent pipelines in manufacturing, semiconductors, aviation, and robotics. The collaborations bring cutting-edge technology training directly to students and workers across the city-state.

One partnership with GlobalFoundries alone will train more than 2,000 employees to support the company's digital transformation. Another makes Singapore Polytechnic the first higher education institution in Singapore to become a SOLIDWORKS Authorized Training Center, boosting national capabilities in industrial AI and advanced engineering.

But the impact goes beyond just technical skills. Singapore Polytechnic is also helping small businesses navigate the AI revolution safely through a new framework called TIA-Ready, the country's first industry-owned Industrial AI readiness framework.

The school tested the framework with two small companies, JM Vistec and CADVision Systems. Their feedback showed the framework helps small businesses identify AI risks, strengthen governance, and build customer trust while keeping operations running smoothly.

"As AI becomes embedded in industrial and operational environments, companies need both the right technology and the workforce capabilities to use it responsibly," said Soh Wai Wah, Principal and CEO of Singapore Polytechnic. The partnerships ensure graduates and workers can thrive as AI transforms the economy.

These partnerships create opportunities that extend far beyond Singapore's borders. Students will gain exposure to emerging technologies like agentic AI while helping enterprises build capabilities for regional growth, including opportunities linked to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.

The collaborations also advance sustainability and digital transformation across industries. Workers at all career stages, from students to adult learners, will have access to industry attachments, internships, and hands-on experience with tomorrow's technologies today.
