South Boston A's Sweep Championship Series at BC High

The South Boston A's just proved that Southie's baseball future is bright, sweeping the 13-15U Junior Division Championship in two straight games.

The 15U team defeated the South End Astros 2-0 in the best-of-three championship series at BC High's Monan Park this August. In Game 1, they battled through a high-scoring thriller, winning 13-11 with Liam Long taking the mound for the victory.

Game 2 saw the A's seal the championship with a 12-8 win. Freddie Haddad earned the winning pitcher honors as his team celebrated their sweep.

The championship caps off an impressive season for the squad, which includes players like Ronan Foley, Jack Hughes, Yadiel Soto, Will Christino, Jack Stark, Joe Vitale, Charlie Bolger, Owen Sullivan, Ryan Roberts, Brendan Pugsley, and Brian Goodman. Brady Robbins, Brandon Goodman, and Jake Donnellan round out the roster.

Coaches Joe Christino, Freddie Haddad, and Pat McGowan guided the team through their championship run. Their work with these young athletes paid off in the best possible way.

The Boston Red Sox Foundation's RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program has been giving kids across Boston's neighborhoods a chance to play competitive baseball for years.
