Spain Opens $6M Quantum Chip Facility in Barcelona

Spain is joining the global race to build the computers of tomorrow, and it's doing so with a brand new facility that's the largest of its kind in the country.

The Spanish National Research Council opened the Quantum Nanofabrication Area in Barcelona this month, a specialized clean room where researchers can build devices smaller than a human hair. The facility cost over six million euros and comes equipped with Spain's most advanced electron-beam lithography system, which writes patterns onto chips at the nanometer scale.
