When Florida State student manager Michael Rubin suggested his coach challenge a referee's call during an intense tournament game, he didn't know millions would soon watch him celebrate.

The third-year sport management major serves as head video manager for Florida State's men's basketball team. During Wednesday's ACC Tournament game against California, Rubin spotted a questionable call and confidently told head coach Luke Loucks to challenge it.

Video footage shows Rubin erupting in celebration with another staffer, while Coach Loucks turns around to give him a fist bump. The ACC posted the clip, and it quickly went viral across social media.

Rubin's role exists because of a new NCAA rule approved last June that allows coaches to challenge out-of-bounds calls, goaltending, and restricted-area arc violations. Teams must use a timeout to challenge, and if successful, they can challenge once more during the game.

"These guys work their tails off every day," Loucks said earlier this month. "They do it because they love the game and love the program. They put so much time and effort, and they are in a tough spot."
