Just over a week after winning Commonwealth Games gold in Glasgow, Australian teenager Isaac Beacroft stood on the track at Oregon's legendary Hayward Field and shattered another barrier.

"I'm over the moon, I couldn't be happier," Beacroft said after his Saturday victory. He now holds both the Commonwealth Games and world U20 championships gold medals, a rare double achievement.

The path between his two triumphs wasn't exactly textbook athlete preparation. After winning the 10km race walk in Glasgow, Beacroft spent a day celebrating with his Commonwealth teammates before rushing to catch a delayed flight to Oregon.

"I didn't go too hard on the partying, but there was some definitely done, then it was pretty rough to travel here," he admitted with characteristic honesty. Despite the whirlwind schedule and travel chaos, he crushed his competition by over three seconds.
