Tesla Semi Fleet Triples with 500 Electric Trucks to Europe

The future of clean shipping just got three times bigger, and it's happening faster than anyone expected.

Swedish logistics company Einride announced Tuesday it will deploy 500 Tesla Semi trucks for major customers including Amazon over the next two years. The deployment begins next month, marking the largest commercial expansion of electric semi trucks to date.

The move triples Einride's existing electric truck fleet. These aren't experimental vehicles anymore. They're production models ready to haul real cargo for real companies across North America.

Tesla started mass producing the Semi in late April after years of development. The company first unveiled the electric truck concept in 2017, delivered pilot units to PepsiCo in 2022, and now manufactures the vehicles at a dedicated Nevada factory.

The trucks will run on Einride's Saga AI system, designed specifically to manage electric freight fleets. Major corporations including Walmart, UPS, and Anheuser-Busch have reportedly placed orders for their own Tesla Semis.

"This deployment is yet another proof point that we can execute at the scale our customers demand," said Einride CEO Roozbeh Charli. The phased rollout demonstrates that electric trucking can meet commercial demands without compromise.

This expansion signals a fundamental shift in how goods move across continents. Every Tesla Semi replacing a diesel truck means cleaner air for communities along shipping routes and fewer emissions contributing to climate change.

The commercial freight industry accounts for massive carbon emissions worldwide. Proving that electric trucks can handle real logistics at scale opens the door for other companies to follow suit.

Tesla plans to add self-driving capability to the Semi by early next year, which could further transform the shipping industry. But the immediate impact matters most: 500 electric trucks moving goods without burning fossil fuels, starting in just weeks.

The clean transportation revolution isn't coming someday. It's rolling out next month, 500 trucks at a time.
