Thailand and Nordic Nations Unite on Health Tech Innovation

A Thai innovation delegation touched down in Sweden and Denmark this week with an ambitious goal: building bridges between Nordic expertise and Southeast Asian opportunity.

The visit is part of the Thai–Nordic Innovation Co-Creation Platform 2026, organized by Thailand's National Innovation Agency and the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm. Representatives from Thai innovation agencies, accelerators, and tech programs are spending the week meeting with Nordic counterparts to explore how both regions can benefit from shared knowledge.

Health technology and agricultural innovation are at the heart of the discussions. Thailand sees Nordic countries as leaders in sustainable solutions and cutting-edge health tech, while Nordic companies are eyeing Thailand's established manufacturing capabilities and supply chains.

Thai Ambassador to Sweden Arunee Rungthip Humphreys welcomed the delegation in Stockholm on September 4th, where they toured Epicenter, Sweden's prominent startup hub. The visit introduced Thai innovators to Sweden's thriving ecosystem of entrepreneurs and technology companies.

The partnership is designed to work both ways. Nordic startups gain a potential entry point to Southeast Asia's massive consumer market of more than 680 million people across ASEAN countries. Thai businesses get access to Nordic expertise, technology transfer opportunities, and established innovation networks.

Thailand is positioning itself as more than just a destination for collaboration. With its central location in Southeast Asia, strong manufacturing base, and regional trade connections, the country offers Nordic companies a strategic gateway to the broader Asian market.

The delegation includes leaders from organizations like SEA Bridge, Techsauce, and Thailand Deep Tech Accelerator. They're scheduled to meet innovation experts and industry leaders throughout both Sweden and Denmark during their tour.
