Thailand just proved it's becoming a powerhouse in sustainable woodworking, as its second annual international exhibition opened 51% larger than its debut just two years ago.

The Thailand International Woodworking & Furniture Exhibition 2026 welcomed over 400 brands from 19 countries this week, bringing cutting-edge machinery, automation systems, and eco-friendly manufacturing solutions to Bangkok. The massive growth from 2024 to 2026 reflects surging international interest in Thailand as Southeast Asia's gateway for modern woodworking technology.

The exhibition isn't just about bigger booths and flashier equipment. It's addressing real industry challenges like production efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental responsibility in an industry historically known for resource depletion.

"Promoting the sustainable use of plantation and economic timber, alongside responsible forest resource management, is an important approach to achieving a balance between economic growth and conservation," said Darika Saranket, advisor to Thailand's Minister of Natural Resources and Environment. The ministry co-hosted the event specifically to push sustainable practices forward.
