Called up from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday after an outfielder went down with injury, the 21-year-old center fielder went 3-for-4 with a walk, scored twice, and smacked two doubles in the Detroit Tigers' 13-1 win over the Oakland Athletics on Friday night. His family of 12 flew to Sacramento to witness the moment, and Clark could hear his wife Kayli's scream of support from the stands.

"As soon as that first pitch went by, I was locked in," Clark said after the game. Manager A.J. Hinch agreed, saying the young player was "very prepared" and showed exactly why the team's belief in him runs so strong.

The third overall pick in the 2023 Draft worked a walk in his first at-bat, then blooped his first career hit into left field in the fourth inning. His biggest moment came in the eighth with runners on the corners and Detroit clinging to a 2-1 lead.

Clark crushed the first pitch to the base of the left-field wall, driving in a run and sparking a seven-run explosion that put the game away. "That's the exact scenario you dream about as a little kid," he said.
