Toyota Partners With Treehouse to Simplify EV Home Charging
Toyota just made getting an at-home EV charger as simple as snapping a few photos. The automaker partnered with Treehouse to handle everything from permits to installation for its growing electric vehicle lineup.
One of the biggest perks of owning an electric vehicle is waking up to a fully charged car every morning, but getting a home charger installed has been a hassle for many drivers.
Toyota just solved that problem with a new partnership that makes home charging setup incredibly easy. The company teamed up with Treehouse, a service that handles every step of installing Level 2 home chargers for EV and plug-in hybrid owners.
Here's what makes it simple: drivers just take a few photos of their home's electrical setup and complete a short survey. Treehouse's technology takes it from there, managing permits, electrical upgrades, inspections, and installation through licensed electricians.
All 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus electric vehicles now come standard with a dual-voltage home charger that works with both 120V and 240V outlets. The charger maxes out at 7.7 kW, enough to take a vehicle from 10% to fully charged overnight.

Drivers who want even faster charging can opt for a ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger through Treehouse, which cuts charging times by up to 30%. Toyota chargers come with a three-year warranty, while Lexus models get four years of coverage.
The Bright Side
The timing couldn't be better. Toyota is launching three new electric SUVs this year, including the redesigned bZ4X, the smaller C-HR, and the rugged bZ Woodland. Later in 2026, the Highlander EV will become Toyota's first three-row electric SUV.
The automaker is sweetening the deal with $5,000 cash bonuses and 0% financing on its new electric vehicles. Toyota's updated bZ4X already ranked among the best-selling EVs in the US last month, showing strong demand for the brand's electric offerings.
By removing one of the biggest barriers to EV ownership, Toyota is making the transition to electric vehicles more accessible for everyday drivers. When charging at home becomes as easy as plugging in your phone, going electric starts to feel less like a leap and more like a natural next step.
