Türkiye Launches Clean Tech Startup Fund Ahead of COP31

Türkiye is putting serious money behind its clean energy future, launching a suite of startup programs just months before hosting COP31 in Antalya this November.

The country's Scientific and Technological Research Council unveiled new funding and mentorship programs designed to transform climate-friendly ideas into real businesses. Winners in the main competition can earn up to 700,000 lira (roughly $20,000), while women-led startups compete for 300,000 lira prizes across four categories.

The initiative targets startups working on energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste transformation, and sustainable transportation. Applications close August 3, giving founders just weeks to pitch their solutions.

This marks the second phase of Türkiye's Global Cleantech Innovation Programme, which began earlier this year. The expanded support now includes accelerators that teach startups how to commercialize their technologies and attract investors, not just develop prototypes.

Selected teams will attend the GCIP Türkiye 2026 National Academy in September, where they'll get hands-on training before the November summit. The timing connects homegrown innovation directly to the global stage, as world leaders gather in Antalya from November 9 to 20.
