Uganda's Miss World Gown Honors C-Section Mothers

When Miss World Uganda walked onto the stage in Vietnam, her gown stopped the crowd. But it wasn't just the dramatic colors or elegant drape that left people breathless.

The dress told a story rarely seen in high fashion: the physical reality of bringing a child into the world through Caesarean section. Designer Keesha Abdallah created "Layers of Life" to honor the seven anatomical layers doctors cut through during a C-section, turning medical anatomy into art.

Abdallah, a new mother herself, spent months studying the details of each layer. She researched how skin, fat, fascia, muscle, peritoneum, uterus, and amniotic sac work together to protect and nurture new life.

The gown flows from peach through gold, coral, red, maroon and burgundy, with each shade representing a different layer of the body. Abdallah used stretch satin and tulle to create the visual journey from the body's outer protection to the sacred space where babies grow.

Finding the right colors proved to be the biggest challenge. The design team experimented with countless combinations before landing on shades that would honor the anatomy while creating a stunning visual effect on stage.

The designer made clear that the colors weren't meant to represent any particular race or skin tone. Instead, they celebrate the universal human experience of creating life, something that connects mothers across every continent and culture.

Miss World Uganda Muhoza Trivia Elle wore the gown with pride, carrying its message to a global audience. An entrepreneur and philanthropist who supports vulnerable children, she embodied the gown's celebration of motherhood and care.
