UK Plans 6GW Offshore Wind Lease Round for 2027

The United Kingdom just announced plans to lease new ocean areas for wind farms that could generate enough electricity to power six million homes while creating 10,000 jobs.

The Crown Estate, which manages Britain's seabed, will launch its sixth leasing round in early 2027. Developers will bid on offshore sites capable of producing up to 6 gigawatts of clean power, driving £12 billion in private investment.
