Ukraine Adopts Silent Electric Motorcycle for Military Use

Ukraine has officially added a homegrown electric motorcycle to its military fleet, marking another step forward in how battery-powered vehicles are reshaping defense operations.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense recently approved the Wolfstorm, a lightweight electric motorcycle built specifically for military use. Designed and manufactured domestically, the two-person bike can navigate difficult terrain while carrying soldiers and equipment where roads have been damaged or don't exist at all.

The specs tell an impressive story. Weighing just 231 pounds, the Wolfstorm features an 8-kilowatt motor mounted in the center for better balance on rough ground. It can hit speeds up to 50 mph and travel about 62 miles on a single charge.

What makes it particularly useful is the modular battery system. Soldiers can swap battery packs quickly in the field instead of waiting four hours for a full recharge. The bike can carry up to 440 pounds, enough for two service members plus gear, and even includes reverse gear for tight spaces.

According to the ministry, motorcycles have become some of the most valuable vehicles on the front lines, second only to pickup trucks. They're being used for reconnaissance missions, transporting drone operators, logistics runs, evacuations, and security patrols.

The electric advantage goes beyond just moving quietly. The bike produces almost no heat signature, costs less to operate than gas-powered alternatives, and requires less maintenance. For military operations where stealth and reliability matter, those features add up fast.
