Vietnamese EV Maker VinFast Rolls Out 200,000th Vehicle
VinFast's main factory in Vietnam just produced its 200,000th electric vehicle, capping a record year that saw the company sell 100,000 EVs globally in one quarter alone. The milestone shows how quickly electric transportation is scaling up to meet growing demand worldwide.
A Vietnamese electric vehicle factory just hit a production milestone that shows clean transportation is moving from niche to mainstream.
VinFast celebrated rolling out its 200,000th electric vehicle from its Hai Phong manufacturing plant in Vietnam this month. The milestone vehicle was a Limo Green, a pure electric minivan that sold nearly 10,000 units in November 2025 alone.
The numbers tell a remarkable growth story. VinFast sold 100,000 vehicles globally in just the third quarter of 2025, setting an all-time company record. By November, total sales had reached 147,450 units as demand continued climbing into December.
To keep pace, the Hai Phong factory ramped up production to 26,000 units in December. On its best day, December 14, the facility produced 1,062 vehicles in 24 hours. That works out to roughly 43 electric cars, buses, or bicycles rolling off the line every single hour.
The factory runs on three shifts with 18,000 workers supported by 1,200 robots across its 335-hectare campus. Automation handles 90% of the manufacturing process, allowing the facility to scale production quickly when demand surges.

VinFast now operates four manufacturing plants across Vietnam, India, and Indonesia. The facilities produce vehicles for local markets and export, helping the company reach customers across Asia and beyond.
The Ripple Effect
VinFast's rapid scaling reflects a broader shift happening worldwide. As fuel prices climb and environmental awareness grows, more buyers are choosing electric over gas. What started as a luxury option is becoming accessible transportation for everyday families.
The company's success also demonstrates how emerging economies are leading in clean technology manufacturing. Vietnam is building expertise in electric vehicle production that creates jobs while helping reduce transportation emissions globally.
VinFast vehicles aren't available in the Philippines yet, but the expansion trajectory suggests that could change as the company continues growing its regional footprint.
For now, the 200,000th vehicle stands as proof that electric transportation has moved past the experimental phase into mass production.
