Welsh Electrical Firm Creates 30 Jobs With New HQ

What started as a dream between two people in 2015 has grown into a thriving business ready to create 30 skilled jobs for a Welsh community.

Williams Electrical (Cymru) Ltd is building a brand new headquarters in Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire, thanks to £312,000 in Welsh Government funding. The electrical services and renewable energy company will more than double its current workforce over the next five years.

The expansion will bring 24 new positions within three years, followed by six more jobs in years four and five. Roles include qualified electricians and apprenticeships, giving young people a pathway into skilled trades.

Director Wayne Williams remembers the humble beginning. "When we started in 2015, it was just two people, one van and a vision to build a trusted business that creates opportunities locally," he said.

The new facility will triple the company's current office space at the Cross Hands East Strategic Employment Site. The location offers easy access to major roads, helping Williams Electrical serve customers across South Wales and beyond.

The Ripple Effect

This growth story shows how supporting small businesses creates lasting benefits for entire communities. The company specializes in renewable energy systems, meaning every project helps customers reduce their carbon footprint while creating local jobs.

The employment site itself represents collaboration between Welsh Government and Carmarthenshire County Council. Their joint venture develops plots specifically designed to help businesses expand in strategic locations.

Cllr Hazel Evans, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, celebrated the investment as proof that partnership approaches work. Local businesses get room to grow while residents gain access to skilled careers close to home.

The apprenticeships matter especially. Young people in Carmarthenshire will learn electrical skills and renewable energy technology without leaving their community. Those skills will serve them throughout their careers.
