Escape, a Wisconsin-based tiny house builder, just completed the Shoreline Glass House in their Canoe Bay Village community. At 47 feet long and 12 feet wide, it's larger than typical tiny homes, but the real game-changer is what's inside.

The entire layout sits on one level, meaning you can walk upright everywhere, including the bedroom. That simple design choice eliminates the biggest complaint about tiny houses: hunching over in a cramped loft while trying to make your bed.

Natural light floods the home through 30 feet of windows along one wall, creating an airy feel that makes the space seem even larger. The living area fits a full L-shaped sofa arranged around an electric fireplace, while the kitchen includes full-sized appliances, stone countertops, and a pantry.

The bedroom comfortably holds a king-sized bed and features a walk-in closet. The bathroom includes a five-foot-wide glass shower, washer and dryer, and plenty of storage. An enclosed porch at the entrance adds bonus semi-outdoor living space.

The Bright Side

This design addresses one of the biggest barriers keeping people from embracing tiny house living: accessibility. Single-level layouts work for seniors, people with mobility challenges, or anyone who simply doesn't want to climb a ladder after a long day. By proving that tiny houses can offer apartment-style comfort without the apartment-style price tag, Escape is making downsizing a realistic option for more people.

The home is currently for sale at $196,240, with a monthly plot rental of $680 that covers the land and utilities at Canoe Bay Village. For comparison, many studio apartments in urban areas cost significantly more per month without building any equity.
