Woman, 90, Beat COVID in Pandemic's Darkest Days

When Kathleen McCain contracted COVID-19 in her 90th year during the pandemic's darkest days, few expected her to survive. But the Omagh woman defied every odd, walking out of the hospital and back to her beloved window where she could watch the birds and her neighbors going about their daily lives.

"Today I am praising the Lord because I am a new person," she said shortly after her discharge from South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen. She called herself "lucky to be alive" and never forgot the love and kindness shown by the doctors and nurses who cared for her.
