NY Gas Station Offers 20% Off for 15-Second Dance Moves

When gas prices climbed too high, one New York station decided to help customers groove past the pain at the pump.

Halfmoon Sunoco, located 25 minutes outside Albany, launched a simple but joyful promotion last month. Any customer willing to dance for at least 15 seconds earned a 20% discount on their entire fuel bill.

The idea came from 23-year-old Paulina Sirtori, the station's social media manager and recent Syracuse University graduate. "The number one complaint we hear from people everywhere is that gas prices are just too high," Sirtori explained. "So we wanted to really do something to alleviate that a little bit."

Customers embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and creativity. Bill and Dan became the first to participate, with Bill twerking and "dropping it down" while Dan showed off his self-described "Michael Jackson move" complete with hip pops and head whips.

Local bus driver Denise Lapointe brought her own style to the dance floor. "I just danced to the beat of my own drum while singing, 'I'm dancing for a discount,'" she told the New York Post. "Just being my goofy self."

The discounts added up to real savings. One woman walked away with $15 off her tank, leaving with more than just fuel in reserve.
