The discovery also gave Acosta a profound perspective on humanity's place in Earth's timeline. "Life continues even after things go extinct," she reflected. "Humans are such a small part of it, and this really puts it into perspective."
Three of the four footprints will be airlifted by helicopter this fall to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. There, researchers can study them further before sharing them with the public.
