While most 21-year-olds scroll through social media, Surendra Singh Choudhary is out there making his corner of the world cleaner, one river at a time.

Known affectionately as "Bittu Tabahi," Choudhary has spent months tackling the heavily polluted Ajnar River in his hometown of Biaora, Madhya Pradesh. Then one of his cleanup videos went viral. An X user posted before-and-after photos showing Choudhary standing proudly by the transformed river, and the internet took notice.

But the real magic happened when Boyan Slat, founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup, spotted the post. The Netherlands-based NGO leader left a three-word comment that changed everything: "Come work for us."
