3 Ohio Seniors Score 31+ on ACT, Earn Scholarships

Three high school seniors from Beaver Local, Ohio, are celebrating a major academic milestone that puts them among the state's top achievers.

Zach Redman, Luke Rettos, and Ashton Baker each scored 31 or higher on the ACT, earning them the "Heads Above the Rest" distinction from Ohio's Educational Service Center. The honor came with $100 scholarships for each student, recognizing their exceptional test performance.

The recognition didn't stop there for Redman. He was also nominated as Beaver Local High School's representative for the prestigious Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award, given annually to one senior per county across Ohio.

The Franklin B. Walter Award goes beyond test scores. It celebrates students who demonstrate outstanding achievement through their grades, extracurricular activities, and overall contributions to their school community.

The Columbiana County Educational Service Center hosted all county nominees at a special Heads Above the Rest presentation in April. There, they announced the county's scholarship recipient and celebrated students who went above and beyond academically.
