Alabama State University Raises Record $52 Million for Students

Alabama State University turned an elegant gala into a $52 million promise to its students, marking the biggest fundraising year in the school's history.

The President's Gala in Montgomery brought together alumni, donors, and community leaders for an evening that put student success front and center. Under white and gold decorations symbolizing illumination and legacy, the sold-out event celebrated what happens when people invest in education.

The night delivered immediate impact when two students received $10,000 in scholarships right there in the ballroom. These weren't just symbolic gestures but real financial barriers removed, the kind that can mean the difference between finishing a degree or dropping out.

"When we give to our universities, particularly our Historically Black Colleges and Universities, we are investing in dreams," said Col. Gregory Clark, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. "Your support provides scholarships, resources, academic support, technology, and opportunities that help solidify student success."

President Dr. Quinton T. Ross Jr. issued a simple challenge to everyone in attendance: "Lift as you climb. Open doors. Pour into somebody else." He reminded successful alumni and supporters that someone once invested in them, and now it's their turn to create opportunities for the next generation.

That $52 million doesn't just change individual lives. It transforms an entire institution's ability to serve students who might not otherwise afford college.
