Kuva Systems found Alberta through a Google search in 2016 while hunting for funding. Within nine years, the company commercialized its methane detection technology and grew big enough to be acquired by a multinational firm in 2025.

The speed surprises even experts. Technologies moved from concept to commercial deployment in four to five years, beating the typical six to eight year timeline for heavy industry innovation.

One in three funded projects now reports international sales, with methane technology companies leading the charge. Solutions tested in Alberta's harsh conditions are proving themselves in markets worldwide.
