The Museum of Innovation, Startup & Technology (MIST) will rise in Bengaluru after Heneghan Peng Architects won the design contract on July 21, 2026. The Dublin-based firm, famous for designing the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Giza pyramids, beat five other global teams through a competitive selection process that evaluated both quality and cost.

The museum represents a fresh model for celebrating India's tech achievements. Karnataka's IT department holds a 49% stake while the UnboxingBLR Foundation owns 51%, creating a public-private partnership that blends government backing with entrepreneurial energy.

Heneghan Peng didn't come alone. They partnered with Cadence Architects, a Bengaluru-based firm that brings local knowledge and context to the project. This combination promises a building that honors both global architectural excellence and regional identity.

MIST will occupy a repurposed factory shed at Bengaluru's NGEF campus, transforming industrial heritage into innovation celebration.
