BYD SUV Earns World's First Anti-Motion Sickness Award

Getting carsick might soon become a thing of the past, thanks to an innovation from electric vehicle maker BYD that earned the world's first anti-motion sickness certification.

The company's new Great Tang SUV received official recognition from China's automotive research authority for its ability to prevent passenger nausea. The 17-foot luxury vehicle uses intelligent suspension technology that automatically adjusts driving settings to keep riders comfortable.

BYD's "multi-dimensional anti-motion sickness mode" works by smoothing acceleration, softening the suspension response, and easing turns. The system activates automatically for all passengers, not just the driver.

The feature drew massive interest in China, where the Great Tang pulled in over 150,000 reservations after opening preorders in April. That's the highest number of advance orders for any BYD vehicle ever.

The certification from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center validates what test riders experienced. Lu Tian, who manages BYD's Dynasty vehicle series, announced the achievement over the weekend.
