The Chinese startup took a pilot production line for next-generation solar panels from installation to first sample rollout in just 38 days, setting what it claims is a world record.

Perovskites are minerals that convert sunlight into electricity at impressively high rates. Hefei's team achieved 27.37% efficiency on small test cells and produced a 31-square-foot module with 20.11% efficiency.
