Classical Schools Grow 250+ as AI Reshapes Education

Over 250 new classical education schools have opened across America since 2020, teaching students timeless skills just as artificial intelligence transforms how children learn.

The movement now serves roughly 700,000 students in more than 1,500 schools nationwide. These schools focus on teaching kids how to think, not what to think, through grammar, logic, rhetoric, history, and great literature.

First Lady Melania Trump launched her "Foster the Future" summit on March 24 to explore how AI can expand learning opportunities for children. Among the attendees was MacKenzie Price, CEO of Alpha Schools, a company helping students see AI as a learning partner rather than a threat.

Alpha Schools uses AI to accelerate morning lessons in subjects like history and geometry, then dedicates afternoons to life skills. Younger students learn to ride bikes, while older ones master managing bank accounts and starting businesses.

The classical education approach offers something AI can't replicate: wisdom and virtue developed through studying works by Plato, Aristotle, Mark Twain, and other great thinkers. The curriculum builds deep critical thinking skills that help students navigate misinformation and manipulation in an AI-dominated world.
