The event removes one of the biggest headaches in the licensing process: getting an appointment slot. Applicants won't need system login credentials, which officials will activate on site before each test.
To participate, people need to bring a valid ID, proof of payment for their license category, a medical certificate issued within the last 180 days, and a vehicle for the test. The only restrictions apply to people who failed a test in the previous 20 business days or already have an appointment scheduled.
The extended evening schedule solves another common problem. Many Costa Ricans struggle to take driving tests during regular business hours because of work or school commitments.

This one-day event could speed up the entire licensing system. By clearing part of the backlog, the ministry creates more appointment slots for everyone else waiting in line.
If demand exceeds capacity at the stadium, officials will schedule overflow appointments for June 18 through 20 at Ciudad Vial in Paso Ancho. Those tests will also run until 10:00 p.m., keeping the same worker-friendly hours.
