Ex-CEOs Open Mental Fitness Studio to Prevent Burnout
Two former executives who built successful corporate careers are launching India's first preventive mental wellbeing studio after realizing meditation shouldn't be just a weekend escape. Corumm combines ancient Vedic practices with modern therapy in a 3,400 sq ft Gurugram space opening next month.
After 20 years climbing the corporate ladder, childhood friends Rahul Singhal and Anshul Khullar found themselves searching for calm on yet another weekend getaway to Rishikesh. What struck them wasn't just the meditation sessions, but the crowd of exhausted professionals around them seeking the same relief.
Singhal had served as CEO of IKA India and held leadership roles at GE Renewable Energy. Khullar worked as Chief Business Officer at Zee Studios and Vice President at Disney Star. Both had achieved the career success they'd chased, but their mental health had taken a backseat.
"We saw so many like us there, who had come to rejuvenate over a weekend," says Singhal. "But after returning, people slipped back into the same routine."
That realization became Corumm, a preventive wellbeing platform launching next month in Gurugram. Unlike apps or drop-in yoga studios, Corumm requires membership commitments because the founders believe mental fitness needs consistency, not occasional visits.
The 3,400 square foot soundproof studio on Golf Course Road features meditation spaces, a library, and a children's play area so parents can attend without childcare barriers. The model blends Vedic meditation traditions with non-clinical therapies like sound healing, art, music, and theatre across 45 guided programs.

Entry-level sessions focus on breathing and body awareness, while advanced offerings include Yog Nidra deep relaxation and chakra awareness practices. Specialized prenatal and postpartum programs address emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and early motherhood, an area the founders noticed was underserved.
Why This Inspires
Singhal and Khullar aren't just creating another wellness studio. They're addressing a fundamental gap in how we treat mental health by building preventive care into daily routines before burnout strikes.
"We thought whether we could do for mental fitness what Cult did for gyms by giving it a modern, but disciplined structure," Singhal explains. Physical gyms normalized preventive exercise decades ago, yet mental fitness still gets attention only after crisis hits.
The business model includes tiered memberships, corporate workshops, and an upcoming product line called Corumm Roots featuring meditation oils and herbal teas. Corporate three-hour sessions for leadership teams already generate around Rs 1 lakh per engagement, showing demand exists.
Corumm's proprietary Wellbeing Index assesses mental clarity, emotional balance, and stress regulation to recommend personalized programs and track progress over time. The founders believe physical spaces create stronger behavioral change than meditation apps because community and dedicated environments drive long-term engagement.
Two executives who sacrificed wellbeing for achievement are now helping others avoid the same trap.
